So This is Doing No Evil?
Eric Schmidt, one of the guys who founded Google, apparently thinks it’s reasonable to expect every person to change his name at some point to escape his cyber past. This is the same guy who previously said that if you … Continue reading

AT&T U-verse One Week Summary
It’s been almost a week since my home was upgraded with AT&T U-verse service, and so far I’m quite happy with the results. It seems to have fixed all the problems I was having, and so far I’m learning to … Continue reading

AT&T U-verse Service
I’ve been working with AT&T on issues with my DSL without getting anywhere, so I eventually took them at their word (usually a mistake) that their new U-verse service would solve all my problems. I signed up yesterday, the installation … Continue reading

It Respects My Time
I think I finally pinned down something that’s been eluding me for a while: the MacBook is respectful of my time in a way that my PCs aren’t. That’s a considerable bit of anthropomorphizing, of course, but it’s true nevertheless.
How Is This Even Possible?!
I use Parallels Desktop on my MacBook Pro to host virtual machines, one of which is running Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2005. Here’s what I can’t believe: I run the same database restore on that virtual machine as … Continue reading
